Introduction

Persemble (hereinafter referred to as "the Service") is a native macOS application designed with privacy as a top priority. This Privacy Policy transparently explains how the Service handles your information.

Core principle: Your data stays on your Mac. The Service does not transmit chat history, agent configurations, or any other application data to external servers. All data is stored locally in a SQLite database on your device.

1. Information We Collect

The Service collects very little personal information. Specifically:

Information we do not collect:

  • Chat history or message content
  • Agent configurations or customization data
  • API keys or access tokens
  • App usage or analytics data
  • Cookies or tracking information
  • Personal data such as contacts or calendars

Information we may indirectly obtain:

  • License key: If you purchase a paid plan, your license key is sent to the LemonSqueezy API for validation purposes. This communication includes only the license key; no other personal information is transmitted
  • Support inquiries: If you contact our support team, we will receive your email address and the content of your inquiry

2. Local Data Storage

All data generated and used by the Service is stored locally on your Mac.

  • Chat history and agent configurations: Stored in a SQLite database within the application support directory
  • Process logs: CLI tool execution logs are stored in the local database
  • Attachments: Stored in the application's local directory

There is no cloud synchronization feature, and this data is never uploaded to our servers. You are responsible for backing up and managing your own data.

3. Handling of API Keys

The Service adopts a BYOK (Bring Your Own Key) model. Regarding the handling of API keys:

  • API keys are stored encrypted in the macOS Keychain. They are never stored in the SQLite database or configuration files
  • API keys are never transmitted to our servers
  • API requests are sent directly from your Mac to the respective AI provider's servers. We do not proxy or relay any communication
  • You are responsible for managing your API keys (generation, rotation, and revocation) through each AI provider's dashboard

4. CLI Tools and Local LLMs

The Service integrates with AI providers through the following methods:

CLI Mode (Claude CLI, Gemini CLI, Codex CLI):

  • CLI tools installed on your Mac are launched as local processes
  • Authentication credentials for each CLI tool are managed independently by the respective tool
  • The Service does not directly access CLI tool authentication credentials

Local LLMs (Ollama, LM Studio):

  • Connects to local servers running on your Mac
  • All inference processing is completed on your device and is never sent externally

Apple Intelligence (FoundationModels):

  • Uses macOS on-device AI capabilities
  • All processing occurs on-device with no communication to external servers

5. Third-Party Services

The Service may integrate with the following third-party services. Please review their respective privacy policies as well.

AI Providers (when using API mode):

When using API mode, messages and context information you enter are sent directly to the selected AI provider's servers. We do not relay, store, or view this communication. Please refer to each provider's privacy policy for details on how they handle your data.

LemonSqueezy (Payment and License Management):

  • Payment processing for paid plans is handled by LemonSqueezy
  • Your payment information (such as credit card numbers) is managed by LemonSqueezy; we do not directly hold this information
  • Only your license key is periodically sent to the LemonSqueezy API for license validation purposes

6. Analytics and Tracking

The Service does not currently use any analytics or tracking tools.

  • No analytics SDKs are embedded in the application
  • No usage data is collected
  • No cookies are used (this website is a static site with no server-side processing)

If we introduce privacy-conscious analytics (such as anonymized usage statistics) in the future, we will update this policy in advance and notify you accordingly.

7. Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

If you become aware that a child under 13 is using the Service, please contact us at support@persemble.ai. We will take appropriate action promptly.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data from the Service is stored on your Mac, you have full control over data retention and deletion.

  • Deleting in-app data: You can use the in-app features to individually delete chat history and agent configurations
  • Deleting all data: You can completely erase all data by uninstalling the application and deleting the application support directory
  • Deleting API keys: You can remove Persemble-related entries from the macOS Keychain Access utility

Since no customer data is stored on our servers, no data deletion procedure on our end is necessary.

9. Your Rights

Thanks to the Service's privacy-first design, you can naturally exercise the following rights:

  • Right of access: All your data resides on your Mac, so you can access it at any time
  • Right of rectification: You can freely edit agent configurations and other data within the app
  • Right of erasure: You can delete data at any time through in-app features or the file system
  • Data portability: You can export your chat history using the export feature

10. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When significant changes are made, we will notify you through the following methods:

  • The "Last updated" date on this page will be revised
  • For material changes, a notification will be provided within the app

By continuing to use the Service after changes are made, you are deemed to have agreed to the updated Privacy Policy. We recommend reviewing this page periodically.
